Oh, it was easy enough! It was even fun, sometimes. I've never been one for rigid schedules or anything of the sort.

I can't even imagine... But then, the orphanage insisted on keeping us on a schedule when I was there, and my father - the man who adopted me - was a strict person with regards to timetables and planning. So I suppose it's to be expected.

It sounds like you've had an interesting life.

Ja, it sounds like it! My upbringing was the opposite - we were mostly raised by nannies and their primary goal was to make sure we were happy. We didn't have strict routines except a bedtime, and even then we could usually get away with staying up longer.

[He laughs a bit once that's out there.]

You have siblings, then, from the sound of it...?

I do! Five of them, actually. I'm one of the middle ones. I haven't seen them in quite some time, but last I checked they were all doing well!

Ja, that's right! They don't have any interest in leaving either, though I did ask before I moved out here.

[It would've been easier to have more than just a cousin in the area, but oh well. He's settled in well enough, after all!]

They're smart, honestly, given everything that's been going on here.

I've always been an only child - at least, to my knowledge. If I have any biological siblings, I don't know about them.

I can't imagine growing up without my siblings, but I imagine you'd find the idea of having so many to be a bit overwhelming, ja? We certainly have had very different experiences!

We have. Granted, the orphanage involved being surrounded by people at all times - it was never anything I really liked, I found the lack of privacy grating.

But it wasn't terrible, I suppose. I was fairly accustomed to keeping my head down and not voicing my thoughts on things back then, so I imagine that helped.

Ah, I see. Well, I'm glad we didn't know each other back then; I'm sure you would have found me even more of an annoyance than I am now!
