[He doesn't sound overly defensive, just kind of...stressed out, really.]
There were several people that I dealt with that deserved better. The people I used to work with, the other members of S.T.A.R.S... I still don't know what happened to half of the people that stopped appearing in my memories altogether.
[...Okay. Okay, he needs to calm down, to just...breathe, or something.]
...It's been a long day, that's all. Sometimes I think about these things more than others.
[The contact seems to settle him a little, at least; he'll accept it, and it'll at least get him to sit down nearby like he usually does, though his grip is tight and he doesn't seem inclined to try to let go anytime soon.]
They did. I'm honestly a bit surprised we managed to have a serious conversation at all. But it worked out; I actually might be able to learn more about what was happening in our world from him in the future, which is nice!
That said, though, he'll reach out to play with Jaeger's hair a little once that's out there; that sort of thing always seems to settle him, and Jaeger likes it besides, so...]
[Oh, that's... Well, it's not exactly a nice topic, but he's still relaxed as he answers.]
Gauche and Droite. I don't get the sense that I really cared for anyone else. Though I don't think I cared about them as much as I should have. It's difficult to say, but the way I treated them was... strange for someone who adopted them.
I told you once about that woman that I was with for a while, back then. The one with the red hair, from eastern Europe - the relationship was a good one, but it ended poorly.
[He pauses for a moment; he hasn't really told this part to anyone but Shuji, but...]
The relationship ended because she was pregnant. She wanted to keep the child, I didn't. We fought over it, and parted ways shortly after.
She's another one I've been thinking about recently. What happened to her, whether anything ever came of that.
[While he's certain his past self did a lot of things wrong, at least he (kind of) cared about his daughters. That's the one thing Jaeger can actually (sort of) approve of.
Wesker, on the other hand...]
I'm sorry to hear that, but hopefully things went well for her.
no subject
Do you want to talk about it?
no subject
[...It's not a no, at least.]
no subject
[He imagines there must be for Wesker to come up with a post like that.]

[...]
I still think about Excella sometimes. Not in the same way as I used to, and not as often. But she's one of them.

[Deliberately, he's fairly sure.]
I do still believe that she deserves better, however.

[At least it's not constant nightmares anymore, though.]
What about the others?

That's understandable. I admittedly haven't given much thought to most of the people in my memories, but there are a few I keep coming back to.
[More like a couple, not a few.]
You can talk to me about these things, you know. If it gets to be too much, you can always come to me.
[Wesker already knows that, but it bears repeating.]
no subject
I know I can.
no subject
But it helps to talk to others too, ja? I understand that.
no subject
[He's explained that much before; sometimes he just needs to yell at the network in general, it's fine afterwards. Usually.]
...It's good to know that things went well for you today.

[Wesker, no.
That said, though, he'll reach out to play with Jaeger's hair a little once that's out there; that sort of thing always seems to settle him, and Jaeger likes it besides, so...]

[He'll lean into the hair-playing immediately though, relaxing easily into it. This really is nice...]
no subject
[It's nice to have you come back from these meetings in a good mood, rather than wanting to punch the obnoxious twit's face in.]
...Might I ask you who those people you mentioned earlier were? The ones you keep coming back to.
[He thinks he has an idea, really, but he still wants to verify.]

You've mentioned wanting to get to know them better, if given the chance.

[Whether he had a kid somewhere.]
no subject
[Though imagining Wesker as a father is kind of difficult...]
Maybe you'll remember more about her in time.
no subject
[Yeah, it's kind of...eesh.]
It's likely for the best, at least for her.

[of course they didn't, this is resident evil]
