[...Well, as soon as we go downstairs we're going to be experiencing the general sensation of having a small robot run a bright red scanning light over both of us, and it's going to start flashing and making really obnoxious beeping noises when it sees you, um.
Just. Give him a second to reach up and take that thing down from the ceiling where it's perched near the stairs and shut it off.]
...As I said, I've had one guarding the basement...
The first thing that's likely noticeable is that some of the stasis tubes have things growing in them now - nothing unnerving, exactly, it isn't organs or anything, but rather it's flowers, bright orange asters that don't quite look like anything familiar, or like anything that really belongs here, for that matter. There are some more of them set up on a table against the far wall, presumably where the memorial is: there's also...uh, well.
There appears to be heavy weaponry just kind of sitting on one of the counters nearby. That's a thing that's happening, apparently.]
[The asters in the tubes certainly seem to be thriving in there, anyway. Somehow? Maybe they don't need much to survive.]
We grew them in Africa; they were important to our research somehow, though I'm not entirely sure why. They seem to be doing well enough here, however.
Yes. Chris and his friend kept trying to hit me with them; I could catch them before they hit. They shot them sometimes, however, to make them explode. Usually a few inches from my head.
It was blinding, obviously, and highly unpleasant. But it didn't do more than stagger me a bit at best.
..It's all right, Jaeger. I know you worry because I'm important to you, and you don't want anything to happen to me. It doesn't bother me.
[He knows it's not an apology, but he wants to make that clear anyway.]
I've told you before that I liked things better this way in my past life. I don't know how much I can say that's true for me now, but I do like that we don't have to be concerned about anything terrible happening unexpectedly.
Yes. It really is a relief... I'd be devastated if anything happened to you, so I guess I can't help but worry about it, no matter how unlikely it really is. I love you so much, after all.
Of course. I know you likely don't ever want a personal demonstration of my abilities in that regard, but should you ever want one or be curious about it, I'm not unwilling.
[There are a couple of setups, both of them flanked on either side by some of those flowers that he's been growing down here; they're nothing elaborate like the ofrendas from November, but they're organized and well-maintained, with items as well as pictures.
The first one seems to be devoted to the members of S.T.A.R.S.; he has the photograph of the entire group here, framed and set out prominently, along with a badge he likely took off the uniform he received here. He has framed pictures of the individuals as well, Rebecca and Chris and Jill and Barry, as well as...a few folded-up things that look like maps of some sort.]
...Some of them were still alive at the time that I died, but I asked Mr. Carlisle if any of their souls had been recovered. He told me that to his knowledge, they hadn't.

[It's joking though, don't worry. He won't spend forever wanting to play with the robot either (even though it's tempting).]
no subject
[Including you.]
I can let you see the ones that do sometime, if you like them so much.
[...You can play with them for a while. He doesn't mind.]

[he is absolutely adopting all of the others and there's nothing you can do to stop him.]

[Anyway

[But anyway, look at the flowers! They're certainly better than the heavy weaponry, and he'll go check those out first.]
Did you receive these from Retrospec? They're very beautiful!
[...he'll acknowledge the weapons in a moment, okay.]
no subject
We grew them in Africa; they were important to our research somehow, though I'm not entirely sure why. They seem to be doing well enough here, however.
no subject
[But yeah, okay, fine. He'll turn his attention to the heavy weaponry.]
I take it you received all of this from Retrospec as well?
no subject
[That is a fucking RPG rocket launcher, several rounds to be used with it, and a few things that look like straight-up bombs?]
I'm not sure why they felt it was necessary, but I received them today.
no subject
[What do you even do with something like that...]
no subject
[Wesker, no.]
no subject
They certainly would come in handy for that, yes! I wonder if that thing has moved since we fought it...?
[oh my god.]
no subject
[guys.]
...I've been shot by those before, you know. The rockets. They didn't kill me.
no subject
[That's both horrifying and really cool, holy shit his husband is so awesome...]

It was blinding, obviously, and highly unpleasant. But it didn't do more than stagger me a bit at best.

[oh my god you were so overpowered, what the hell]
It's always strange to hear about things like that. I tend to worry about you more than I really need to, and this is only a reminder of that!
[It's not really an apology or anything, but he sounds a bit sheepish anyway.]
no subject
[He knows it's not an apology, but he wants to make that clear anyway.]

[He can't give you forever anymore, but he can offer you this.]
no subject
I'm glad. You really are so important to me... I really am happy to hear it, thank you.

[He'll gesture a bit toward the setup further in.]
The memorials are over there; as I said, it isn't much, but it isn't as though I have much to remember them by in the first place.
no subject
I still think it's a wonderful idea.
[He'll go check them out, what all do you have over here?]
