Quite. It's rather embarrassing to go trick or treating in real life at this age, I feel, but a virtual substitute is always acceptable.

Once or twice; I was adopted as a child, so doing that sort of thing was my father's way of trying to make things a bit more normal for me for a while afterwards.

I believe it was some sort of reaper? Somewhere between that and the Red Death, I want to say.

Wonderful choices! I only began the Halloween tradition after I moved here, so I missed out on quite a few years... but I think it's a fun time. My favorite trick were those bowls with the hands in them.

There was a woman we knew who always had such an elaborate setup in front of her house. A lot of things that lit up, and fancy decorations laid out on a table surrounding all the candy. It was always themed, too - sometimes skeletons, sometimes ghosts and the like, sometimes monsters from those old movies. Things that would get a child's attention, to be looked at and played with.

Once your attention was there, she or her daughter would sneak up and tap you on the shoulder. Just a gentle thing, but more than enough to ensure that you jumped half a mild.

She sounds like fun. I'm sure I know a number of people who would enjoy doing that exact set up, actually, and so I think I'll keep the idea to myself... lest I become the recipient of their schemes.

Please. I don't think I've properly celebrated a holiday in years.

Part of it is due to having no one to celebrate with, yes; part of it is because I rather enjoy the paycheck that comes with working through the holidays.

Well, there goes my invitation! I do understand though. I have a fair amount of work throughout holiday months like this one, so it's hard to find time to do anything. Effort is always repaid tenfold.

Don't worry about it too much; I'm fairly sure at least one of the people I've gotten to know better through this godforsaken app will insist that I do something with him during the coming season, so I doubt I'll be alone this year.
