I'd argue that curtains and coffee tables have their uses, and I see no reason why they can't be aesthetically pleasing while being functionally useful. It's more the owning of pointless things that I've never understood.

Sometimes pointless things can make you happy! My office back home is filled with paintings. They don't have a functional purpose, but I sure love to look at them!

Pokémon! A variety of species and a variety of colours! Their function is to make me happy and they do it nicely. That's what I mean, in terms of decorative things! Sometimes it's okay to have items that do nothing other than bring your mood up.

I used to keep photographs. Quite a few of them, actually. I was never one for artwork but those were always different for whatever reason.

I haven't been in the practice of doing that for a while.
