[...Yeah, this thing is nowhere near dead, and while it's slightly easier on Wesker's end just due to the nature of what they're doing, the fact that they aren't killing this thing is frustrating as hell.
Once again, though, it'll uproot itself and move - thankfully not anywhere near back toward the center of the city, but rather further out.]
[That's good, at least it's moving. If it had moved back to the center of the city, he might've just given up all together. As it stands, he decides he doesn't care whether or not he looks dignified right now and just flops down to sit on the ground. It takes him a bit longer to catch his breath than he'd like before he can speak.]
Just... give me a minute. I'm fine.
[It's true, he's not injured any, he's just not cut out for long and drawn-out battles like this.]
[He'll come join you, all right, though he's slightly more dignified in how he goes about it; his breathing is heavy and he's certainly tired, but he's managing, at least.]
[It's not like our buddy the elder god's going anywhere. It seems to just flee from us once we do enough damage to it, which is annoying, but at least it can be pushed out of the city. Maybe that'll be good enough for now.
Anyway, Jaeger takes a few moments to catch his breath before attempting to stand. He's surprisingly more steady than he would've thought, so at least there's that.]
I'm not sure how much more I can do, but I can at least manage one final push. I hope that'll be enough...
[He really doesn't want Wesker to have to go at it alone, after all.]
The reality distortions are still present in the wake of the creature's path; they're a bit less jarring now that Wesker knows to expect them, but they're still noticeable and bluntly put, he Doesn't Like It. He doesn't hesitate this time, however, and he doesn't set Jaeger down until they're in the presence of it once again.]
[You're not the only one who Doesn't Like It... Jaeger's ready though, and he'll once again open fire before swapping back to the sword to take care of the tentacles. The brief rest (or maybe just the conversation with Wesker) has reinvigorated him and he's ready to go, so he'll be able to keep up well enough. It won't last forever, but for now he's doing just fine.
[He's...managing. He's tired but he's upright, and he isn't going to stop until this thing dies or leaves - it's the same sort of tight focus that comes across his features when he's working on a puzzle he can't quite solve, when he's determined to accomplish something even if he's having a difficult time with it, and honestly, he's annoyed that no matter what we do to this thing, we can't seem to kill it.
But we can make it leave, and for now that's what he's focusing on, if he has to focus on any one given thought - they don't have to kill it, they just have to do enough.]
[Exactly. It is frustrating that it won't die, certainly, but at least it'll eventually leave and we'll be able to rest.
For now he'll try not to get distracted, even though you are really cute when you're that focused... Now isn't the time to get stuck on that though, he'll be careful not to get caught by the tentacles!! Do what you can to drive it out and we can finally take a well-deserved break.]
[He's doing what he can; granted, this is the third time he's done this and frankly he does not have enough ammunition to keep doing this. He's honestly grateful when the tremors start up, when they're violent from nearly the moment they start, because he's needing to rely on his goddamn handgun and bringing a Beretta to a fight against god is really never a good feeling.
But eventually the thing moves, and it uproots itself and it leaves, and Wesker is perfectly content to let the adrenaline go and just kind of sink to the ground, because the ground seems like a nice place to be.]
[Oh good, the thing's finally moving. Jaeger remains standing for a little bit longer, but it's only so he can approach his husband and collapse beside him. Goddamn, he is so tired.]
Well, that was... not nearly as satisfying as it could have been, but at least we drove it off, ja?
[It's no longer in the center of town, and that's good enough for now.]

Take as long as you need. I imagine we have time.

Once more, then. We'll stop after that, whether we've defeated it or not.
[He's not going to fight it by himself, don't worry.]
no subject
Of course. I hope we do manage to defeat it, but if not... Well, at least we'll have driven it away from the center of the city.

Shall we, or do you need a bit more time?

[That's really pleased him, okay... He knows he can't really protect his husband, but he can at least watch his back.]
I'm ready. Let's do this - once more, perhaps we'll be able to take it out, and even if not, we'll be able to push it back!

[Mnngh.]
Are you all right...?
no subject
[He laughs a bit once that's out there, though.]
I am tired, however. I think I'm better at fighting in short bursts; I don't really have the stamina for longer battles yet, I suppose.
[Maybe someday that will change, who knows.]
Are you okay? You aren't injured, are you?

We can stay here as long as you want, then!
[He'll lean up against you after a moment.]
Thank you for helping me out with this. I couldn't have done it alone.

[Oh, that's...comfortable, he's fine with this.]
