[The weekend's finally here and while this whole week has been sort of an Experience with the text misfires, it's certainly better than being stuck in a jungle.
Jaeger's in a good mood when he shows up at Wesker's doorstep (after letting him know when he'd be over, of course; the last thing he needs is to deal with Wesker's dogs if he shows up unexpected) and he'll wait patiently to be let in.
It's stupid, but he really has missed being here. It's not that he feels safer here (although maybe he should, given the dogs); just being in Wesker's house makes him feel a lot less lonely though, and he's glad Wesker doesn't seem to mind it any.]
[This week certainly has been an Experience; though Wesker has largely been keeping to himself - just home and work and that's it, most days - he's spent more time than he normally would with a few people and as such...well, it'd be a bit much to say he feels better about this entire fiasco (especially given several physical changes that aren't immediately obvious but he is very, very aware that they're there) but it's done something for his mood regardless. That, combined with the notion that Jaeger's presence is vastly preferred to his absence nowadays, has ensured that his spirits are reasonably high for the time being - it's not immediately obvious to most, maybe, but Jaeger likely knows him well enough to be able to tell when he's worked up and when he's not even if he's quiet, and he certainly seems more genuinely calm than cold.
That said, the dogs have been put up well in advance of Jaeger's arrival; even if they're loud, they'll settle soon enough - Jaeger's presence isn't exactly welcome in their esteemed canine opinion, but at the very least it's familiar and recognized by now as someone who won't stab their owner in the face, probably.]
[And he would have been content leaving it at that, were it not for the sudden line of text making itself visible, thought-wise - the words are clear for a brief moment before they dissipate.
And in other regards, not so much.
He doesn't seem aware of it; he moves on easily enough, anyway.]
I haven't remembered anything outside of that pair of people I told you about, which is fine - sometimes I receive several at once, sometimes it's quiet for weeks. Here's hoping this is the latter.
[All things considered, it's been a quiet week for Jaeger. He hasn't experienced the floating thought bubbles yet and seeing that prompts a thought bubble of his own.
What was that?]
Ah, right. I usually don't get very many at a time. I'm thankful for that, really.
It's not as though there's much else to do about it. And I have been feeling as though I'm closer to working out answers, so at least I have that much making it more tolerable.
[He does plan on being over here frequently, so presumably they will eventually...?? But that also means dealing with the dogs and he's not really looking forward to that.]

...Good to see you.
[Come in, then.]

[It's not like it's been all that long since he last talked to Wesker, but it's worth asking anyway.]

There is a pause, because um?]
...It depends on the subject matter, for me. Often they're related, when I get several at at time - it's interesting to see how they connect.
[Treat the damn thing like a puzzle box, in other words. It keeps him sane half the time.]

[Well, that was strange but he'll ignore it for right now.]

[There's plenty he has questions about, after all.]

[...Seriously, your memories are kind of 'what', Jaeger.
Either way, come on - let's go somewhere that isn't just...awkwardly standing around here, shall we.]

Your dogs seem to have calmed down a bit. Are they finally getting used to me?
no subject
Apparently so - I can't say I'm surprised, given how frequently you've been here.
[Judging from his tone, he doesn't find the frequency of it to be a bad thing.]
It's possible they'll continue to be somewhat aggressive toward you in person, but that's to be expected for a while.

[...You're going to have to actually deal with the dogs eventually.]

[But he doesn't like dogs...!!]
no subject
[You did tell him you would.]
no subject
[Yeah... Yeah, he did...]
no subject
[I mean, he likes you and that's probably going to...vaguely count for something, maybe, assuming his dogs can read a room for shit that day.]

[Fingers... crossed.....]

When you put it like that it really does sound stupid...

I assume that's been healing well enough, by the way.
[You know. The, uh. Accidental stabbing.]

[It still kind of hurts a bit, but it's much better now, thanks for asking!!]
