[Everyone there is important to him, in some way, including those he doesn't know as well; Elizabeth is generally always pleasant company, and Akechi is one of those that he worked closely with back in August, so...]
The year is ending well, it seems, despite how rough it was for a good portion of it.
[Jaeger certainly hadn't missed that post to the network earlier, but he had a meeting with Cumore to attend to, so it's only after that that he returns home. He's in a surprisingly good mood considering that his conversations with Cumore tend to go pear-shaped almost immediately.
He'll make his way to the study immediately to see if Wesker's in there. He's not too late, so maybe...?]
He'd received Jaeger's text informing him of where he was going and that he'd be a bit late returning as a result, and it'd been something of a relief, if he's going to be honest with himself; it isn't that he doesn't want to spend time with Jaeger, because he does, but rather that he's going to need a bit more time to decompress than usual. He'd been something of a mess at work but he'd managed to force himself through the motions, if nothing else; now that he's home he appreciates the silence and he'd spent a fair amount of time with his dogs, making damn sure that none of them bit him.
He's settled a little, by the time Jaeger comes home, though he's still feeling a little keyed-up; he's in the study but he's pacing a bit (something made decidedly easier due to the distinct lack of the weird tree, thankfully the house is more or less returned to normal by now) though he'll relax when Jaeger makes his way in.]
How did things go for you tonight?
[It's about as calm as ever, despite the pacing; he'll pause in what he's doing, though, once the question is out there.]
[...Huh. He didn't expect to come in to Wesker pacing around, but maybe he's just worked up from that post earlier today. He doesn't think too much of it and moves to take his usual seat.]
Better than either of us were expecting, I think. He finally remembered me, though it wasn't a memory I've received yet. He actually did tell me more about it after a bit and our conversation was surprisingly civil!
[He doesn't sound overly defensive, just kind of...stressed out, really.]
There were several people that I dealt with that deserved better. The people I used to work with, the other members of S.T.A.R.S... I still don't know what happened to half of the people that stopped appearing in my memories altogether.
[...Okay. Okay, he needs to calm down, to just...breathe, or something.]
...It's been a long day, that's all. Sometimes I think about these things more than others.
[The contact seems to settle him a little, at least; he'll accept it, and it'll at least get him to sit down nearby like he usually does, though his grip is tight and he doesn't seem inclined to try to let go anytime soon.]
They did. I'm honestly a bit surprised we managed to have a serious conversation at all. But it worked out; I actually might be able to learn more about what was happening in our world from him in the future, which is nice!
