[He doesn't want to be too distracted by praise, though, since they're still sparring. Shuji pursues, trying to at least land a hit on Wesker before he inevitably gets his ass kicked. He'd feel proud of that much.]

[Knees or shins, mostly. He's already determined that going for punches is probably just going to get him grabbed before he can do anything, so kicking sounds slightly better.]

That said, you're more than able to connect with his shin, given that he's using that to ensure that he's not getting his damn knee kicked in - he's tall and he likes having knees, knees are good things. So he'll be using it to try to block whatever Shuji is doing there; if he manages...well, as soon as he's ensured the block has gone through he's going to be shifting forward for the sake of trying to knee the poor kid in the abdomen.
