Have you been all right today...? I know it's likely been a bit strange, given the past year.

...Yes, it has been a bit strange. Part of that is because of the blastia, of course...

[His left hand rests over it for a moment before he catches himself and lowers it.]

But I've also been thinking about just how much things have changed. This time last year was... incredibly difficult. I have a hard time thinking back to it, to be honest. It was all incredibly overwhelming, and I couldn't even imagine being able to look back on it.

[Not to say he didn't think he'd live long enough or anything like that, it was just incredibly hard to look toward the future.]

...I never would have imagined that I'd be married and in a much happier place. It's still a little difficult to consider it, but I'm doing much better than I was last year. I think I'll always have some trouble with the blastia, but I've come a long way since then.

[He's quiet for a moment at that, offering a soft noise to indicate that he's listening but not much more; he keeps running his hand gently through Jaeger's hair, though, he's not stopping with that, and when he does speak his words are about as gentle as they tend to get with him.]

You know how proud I am of you, don't you?

[That gets him to grin, the expression bright and genuine. He's always appreciated praise, and it means the world coming from someone he loves so much.]

I'm really happy to hear that, Albert. It... really does mean a lot to me. Looking back on all of it, I'm kind of amazed I've managed to come this far... Though I still have plenty to work on. I'm not exactly perfect yet, after all~!
