[He reaches out then, running one of his hands through Jaeger's hair.]

I try not to let anything hurt me, even if it'll heal. I know you don't like that.

[It's gentle, though.]

I know you do, and it means a lot to me. I know you can heal from quite a lot, and I don't mean to sound like I don't believe that or anything... I just don't want you to get hurt.

There's not much pain in it, you know. Even when there probably should be. There are a few exceptions, but usually it isn't anything that slows me down any.

Really? I'm not surprised that it doesn't slow you down, but I thought that you'd still feel the same amount of pain.

[Though given what he saw in that dream... Well, that makes a lot of sense, really.]

Still... I don't like the idea of you getting hurt, even if it isn't difficult to heal, and even if it doesn't hurt all that much.

You know you don't have to worry about me.

Have you been all right today...? I know it's likely been a bit strange, given the past year.

...Yes, it has been a bit strange. Part of that is because of the blastia, of course...

[His left hand rests over it for a moment before he catches himself and lowers it.]

But I've also been thinking about just how much things have changed. This time last year was... incredibly difficult. I have a hard time thinking back to it, to be honest. It was all incredibly overwhelming, and I couldn't even imagine being able to look back on it.

[Not to say he didn't think he'd live long enough or anything like that, it was just incredibly hard to look toward the future.]

...I never would have imagined that I'd be married and in a much happier place. It's still a little difficult to consider it, but I'm doing much better than I was last year. I think I'll always have some trouble with the blastia, but I've come a long way since then.

[He's quiet for a moment at that, offering a soft noise to indicate that he's listening but not much more; he keeps running his hand gently through Jaeger's hair, though, he's not stopping with that, and when he does speak his words are about as gentle as they tend to get with him.]

You know how proud I am of you, don't you?

[That gets him to grin, the expression bright and genuine. He's always appreciated praise, and it means the world coming from someone he loves so much.]

I'm really happy to hear that, Albert. It... really does mean a lot to me. Looking back on all of it, I'm kind of amazed I've managed to come this far... Though I still have plenty to work on. I'm not exactly perfect yet, after all~!

[He doesn't like acknowledging it, but he knows it might not be for as long as he'd like. What matters is that they can stay together for the time they have, and he's going to enjoy it while he can.]

Of course, there's no way I'm going anywhere! You did agree to marry me, so you're stuck with me!

I already have everything I want - I have you! I really can't imagine ever wanting anything more.

[He laughs after that, though.]

You don't need to worry about getting me anything! Though maybe set aside some time to spend with me next weekend; I'll take the day off and we can just spend time together, that's always nice!
