I suppose if one has access to something powerful like that, it would be pointless not to do so; besides, it feels good to use the powers the viruses give you. Or at least, it does to me, and most people that have them seem to enjoy themselves on some level or another. I know Sergei did, and so did that woman I've told you about - her name was Alexia. If it's involuntary, things tend to go a bit differently, obviously; I've actually never seen a case of involuntary infection go well, now that I think about it.

Viruses don't think, as far as anyone can tell, and even if they did they have very little reason to care about what their host thinks of them. Just the same, involuntary infections never go well; voluntary ones tend to work out, for a given degree of "working out."
