[Jaeger's been sort of worked up all day, and it's entirely because of that post Wesker made to the network. He closes up shop a bit earlier than usual just so he can return home (to Wesker's house, it's sort of confusing that he considers both places home now) sooner. It doesn't take him long to get settled in and then find Wesker.]
I saw that message you sent to the network. Are you okay?
[He's not even going to start with the usual fluff, we're just diving straight in.]
[One of the things Wesker tends to like regarding his work is that the hours are more or less steady; there's always the option to do more, of course, but it isn't required of him, and he does a fair amount of...extracurriculars at home, anyway. As it stands, though, he's home at the usual time today - checking his phone once in a while, but generally available in the study once Jaeger comes home. Simply because they tend to talk often there, they both tend to be able to find each other more easily that way, and it's just...good, he supposes.
That said, he isn't quite expecting that particular greeting, or lack thereof; he just...looks up, and if he's mildly surprised he manages to rein it in reasonably well.]
...I told you that if some sort of serious issue were to arise and you weren't here, I would contact you directly. Surely you don't think that I would be so vague about it, were it something terrible...?
[That doesn't answer the question, though in fairness, he doesn't seem aware of it; it's less done through not wanting to answer and more just...wanting to verify something he considers more important.]
[It's about as strange and blank as his apologies usually are, but he's trying, at least.]
Nothing happened, and I haven't remembered much else beyond what I've told you already - certainly nothing within the past couple of days. I really am fine; I suppose I've just had a fair amount on my mind lately, and soliciting the opinions of others tends to help. That's genuinely all it is.
[Jaeger's quiet for a moment, giving serious thought to that question.]
...I do, yes. If you say it's nothing to be concerned about, then I'll do my best to not worry so much. I can't really control that very well, but I do trust you, Albert. More than anyone else.
It's all right if you have misgivings about it, you know. I don't expect you to simply trust me blindly, regardless of what I say - if it concerns you, then it does.
[He's noticed that, but he's not sure what to say about it. He eventually opts to leave it as it is; if Wesker wants to ask more about it, Jaeger's sure he will.]
Just talking to me about it helps immensely! I assumed the worst earlier, so it's good to be able to talk to you about it to put my mind at ease.
This is another of those things that I'm not particularly used to - either experiencing it for myself, or receiving it from others. It's going to take some getting used to.
[Loose translation: "man, it was a rough couple of days when i realized other people have feelings."]
